Very very very rude and disrespectful had no regard to what was going on the lady I had to talk to I hope I never have to go through her again she didn't care that I struggle with disability and tried to take advantage of the fact that I have a disability we must respect them but but yet they don't have to respect us I was raised respect goes both ways I am disgusted with how they are allowed to treat people

Appointments required- no easy way to make an appointments though. It’s a joke. No one will answer the phone to make an appointment.

I retired 2020 and have talked to the Seattle office 3 times and Albany office 3 times. Each call wait averaged 5-12 minutes. I got specific and helpful information to remedy my problems. Today I talked to Tom at Albany, OR office. He was to the point, informative, asked me questions to clarify my situation, and told me exactly what I needed to do. Tom and every phone conversation from the Albany office was 5 STARS!

Benefits for my child have been taken away because they scheduled me for a phone interview on a day I worked. I called for months a few times a week only to be hung up on or told to call back at another time. I have left voicemails with no returned calls. On the website is says do not go to their office without an appointment. But I cannot get through to anyone. I called the non local number and all she did was email the lady that never calls me back. I am totally lost at what to do.

(800) 772-1213 This is the national number. The wait may take a while to speak to a real person, but they can answer your questions. Albany, OR Office: 877-405-9196 Albany, OR Fax: 541-967-7097
Do you have to be married over 6 months to draw social security.
SS offices don't give those out. That would make it too easy. Federal government offices must be as inaccessible as possible to the public. You must pay for any benefits you get through wasted time and inconvenience.
If you live in Linn County, send it to the Albany Social Security office. If you live in Marion County, send it to the Salem office. Etc....
I don't need to change my address, I would like to know how I can get a red, white, blue card for my wife.Don't know if it was sent or not.
Um no...there is a phone number on the door you have to call to get anything. Then they will mail it to you. I've been waiting for 2 weeks to get a copy of my husband's award letter.
It varies really. Sometimes its about 15 minutes and sometimes longer.
Go online www.ssa.gov and fill out form..or go into the office
I did Google only allowed me to get the national number. I am now waiting for a call back. So frustrating. Thanks for the help. Jim
Generally you dont make an appointment. You get a ticket from the machine and priority depends on what reason you have come and how many people are waiting for that service. I find it pays to get there 10-15 mind before opening and often out by 9:20am.

They will send you a check if its a closed account and have you electrically link your new account. Also they may automatically send you a Direct Express debit card.
Mine took longer than 2 weeks as well, dont worry just keep looking in the mail, if it's more than 3 contact them. Also you name must be in the mailbox to deliver, that is what they told me.
