Easy to follow trail that branches off the San Juan Loop. Falls will definitely be dry until the next wet season. In the first mile after leaving the San Juan Loop, you follow along a stream channel in forest cover -- WATCH FOR ABUNDANT POISON OAK HERE. Definitely suggest good footwear, hat, and long pants. If you go after mid-April, bring a ton of water and go early -- there's enough sun exposure that it will get hot on the exposed granite. Plenty of places to stop and soak in the views as you crest the ridge starting about 3 miles in.

A great trail, some shady parts and a lot of open parts. Many different trails to choose from. Can be a quick hour or so hike to a few days for backpacking with permit. Day or year pass needed and parking available. Also there is a candy store there though I don't like candy they sell other snacks. (Also sales day and year california adventure pass)

This is one of our favorite trails so far; it is easy to moderate with nice views and combination of mountains, trees, rocks and water falls!

First time hiking in California while visiting family. The parking lot has plenty of space to park, nearby bathroom (open whole with a lid to sit for a toilet). The trail was great and worth every step. Bring tissues if you have allergies bc it is thick in some areas. Would definitely hit this spot up again when we visit California!

You don't need a pass. There might be a post there where you put 5 bucks in an envelope, but it's not strictly enforced
We tried to get to the falls but turned around after a couple of hours and didn't get to the falls. If that helps?
