Memories. I grew up in this park. Kissed a girl for the first time in this park. Learned how to play basketball in this park. This was my second home for many year and it is so cool that I was able to move back to North Park and bring my son to this rec on weekends so he can play basketball. The kids don't play like they used to in my day, but it brings back great memories just being in this place. So cool!

Awesome to see the young crowd of kids coming up playing basketball in the gym here. So important to have facilities like this in the neighborhood where young people can do something productive and it doesn't cost anything. Much love, keep up the good work you guys. Big thanks to Jay for the effort and the attitude keeping this place going!

Great room for conga lessons, dance lessons, or party for a friend who just became a citizen of the USA.

Lovely park and the perfect addition to the neighborhood as well as a great place for kids to play. At least it was until recently when authorities along with Parks and Recreation let it turn into a camp for homeless people. We spoke with police a few times and they keep saying that there's nothing they can do about it. Shame, as this used to be a place inhabited by prostitutes and drug dealers, was consequently cleaned up and now is allowed to deteriorate once again.

C'mon "lala mtz"... Yes, there are outdoor bb courts but they suffer a couple of truths; 1. The outdoor courts are hidden from any street (placed in the center of the Rec Center and connected school). 2. The only rare opening is on Idaho St., just steps South of the Rec Center Office. 3. "I've heard" that locals jump the fence. 4. Very nice hoops on clean blacktop hidden just past the office and... fence. A sweet, rarely open outdoor "public" hoops.
The lights are on a timer sw @ the West end of the courts. Jump the fence like everyone else I guess. Or call the Mayor. Good luck !!
