We were just stopping in Cañon City for one night and tried to go to Chili's but they were packed. We ended up going to Mugs and I am so glad that we did. The service was phenomenal and Sarah, our waitress was helpful and super friendly. My husband and I both had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with sweet chili sauce. I could not recommend this sandwich enough. My husband had the fries and I had the onion rings and let me tell you, those were probably the best onion rings I've ever had. If we lived in Cañon City, we would definitely frequent Mugs. Unfortunately we don't but next time we are in the area we will be back.

The food was fantastic. The chicken for the sandwiches is pounded flat, which helps it cook evenly and perfectly. Both the regular and sweet potato fries were great. We also got iced coffees to go, which were great. Only complaint is Faux News being on the TV. I'll donate to the local Democratic party/candidates in response.

Excellent experience. We figured this would be just a normal "diner" type meal. Wow! We were wrong. Surprisingly, some of the best meals we've had in a while. Both the shrimp bowl and the chicken bowl were top notch. We also had the meatloaf which was very good and my son had the fried chicken sandwich. The service was great, even during the Stanley Cup finals. Sam kept everything flowing on time. Even the lemon-berry dessert was a hit. Definitely eat here when in Canon City.

Canon City Mugs is conveniently located near downtown. Friendly service, comfortable atmosphere, good food with a unique menu selection. Plenty of seating in the dinning room or bar area.
