We enjoyed our stay at Big Sioux Recreation. We rented the large cabin for My M in L. It is a lovely remodel of a small school house. It is well appointed and sleeps a couple families comfortably. My Mother in law stayed on the main floor bedroom and my sister in law and her family stayed on the lower floor. My kids stayed in the loft. My wife and I pulled our camper and stayed at a site near the entrance to the park. The cabin is secluded in a forested area, and has a nice porch and fire place area for quiet family get togethers. We were able to grill and cook and eat outside most of the weekend even though the weather was in the mid eighties. The trees and the porch provided shade from the sun. There is good fishing and swimming at the park also. My one complaint was the bath house for the front campground (where we had our camper parked) was dirty and smelled bad. Which isn't normal for the Sioux County campgrounds.

My friend and I spent every other weekend here last summer 2021. Peaceful , beautiful ,, clean , well managed , place to camp.

Not impressed. Kids can't play because they don't enforce speed limits and people fly through the campgrounds day & night. People are rude and randomly bring their dogs into your camp spot or let them run in the campground. All the way around needs improvement.

What kind of fish in the lake

We stock walleye, bluegill, black crappie, and large mouth bass every fall by the hundreds. We have stocked perch, with not much success, and also channel catfish. In total, there's about 90 acres of water with plenty of shoreline access. The deepest part is about 21 feet. There is also a boat ramp.

There isn't any flooding anymore, is there? Is the campground up by the water open?
