My best friend and I have been sorting through our stacks & making our rounds to local coin dealers. Portland’s Precious Metals & Coins has been the best experience for us so far! In fact, it’s now our official stop for sales. The owner, Mike, took his time to educate us on what exactly we were selling, what was worth keeping and why, and also shared some interesting historical facts regarding gold, silver and copper. The prices he offered us for the coins we sold him were slightly higher than estimates we were given elsewhere. I'm also looking forward to making some purchases there as I widen my precious metal allocation within my portfolio while watching the value of the US dollar crumble. Oh, and another particularly cool thing about this shop is that they offer a small selection of solid gold & silver bracelets & rings that were created by a local artist...jewelry for men and women. I've got a bracelet or two on my list!!

This is a great place to add to or unload your collection. I’m so glad this place was recommended to me. The owner is really cool…he answered all of my questions and gave me more than fair prices for some coins that I brought in. He really knows his stuff and It’s just a good vibe. I’ve been to other places around town, and I like several but Portland Precious Metals & Coin definitely leads the pack!

Great place to sell coins! I took in coins I inherited and Mike was super respectful and educated me on what had value and what didn’t. He was super patient and took the time to look each and every coin. He was fair and was happy to share where he was pulling his prices from. Such a great experience. Highly recommend if you are looking to sell and definitely if you are going to buy. They will only have top quality!

Hi, To be honest, Error coins are not our area of expertise. Almost every day people bring us error coins and I feel bad that they wasted their time and gas driving all the way here only to be disappointed. I really appreciate you asking.
Sorry but we do not. We do know that if it is stamped with the word "sterling" or "925" then it is solid sterling silver. Hope this helps.

I didn't see paper currency for purchase. They had a huge range of coins and bullion (and offered great customer service), but you might want to call them directly to see if they deal in paper currency.
