After being on the road for 3 weeks and staying at numerous hotels I give this hotel 5 stars even though it wasn't perfect. Room had added bonus of a balcony which was great for me since.i am a.smoker. secondly it had 2 sinks 1 inside the bathroom and 1 on the outside of the bathroom which is definitely useful when you have kids and or women with you. The continental breakfast was outstanding having a myriad of options to suit even a picky eaters taste. The only negatives where that the pool was out of order and most of the ice machines were out of order. I was on the third floor and had to go to the first floor for a working ice machine. The rooms were clean and had a microwave and nice size fridge.

Hotel should be closed! Beyond derelict. Mold in bathroom and dampness throughout. Overflowing trash bins, chipped paint and grungy every tweeter. This is not merely because help is hard to get. No one has made an effort to maintain this dump in years. The staff was nice. We checked out and went elsewhere as did at least one other family when I was at the desk

Clarion in Hamden was clean, safe and comfy. Check in was friendly and efficient and my well behaved dog was welcomed. The hotel was at capacity and yet it was well within range of "quiet". The room was very clean and the sheets and pillows were comfy and cool. The staff were very good - kind and well informed and cheerful, even though they were fully booked and ahead of me a large group of dancers/cheer moms were checking in and a few were being pushy about their room assignments (who wanted to be next to whom). The staff at Clarion Hamden seem patient and understanding, firm but kind about what they can and cannot do in a busy hotel.

This place was decent besides the fact they decided I was someone else who stayed there previously and apparently smoked in one of their rooms only this was my first time at that location and this is actually not the first time this has happened to me however it's always been straightened out. Not this time however this time I was told by an employee there I was a guest previously and during that last stay apparently they said cigarettes were found and they smelled smoke I wasn't allowed to stay there again and only after I had to get a manager involved and contact their customer service center did the situation finally get settled and my money was returned however the manner and disrespect the employee treated me with and prior to all this she gave me a room that was next to the entrance where constantly had to hear people coming and going and then the next morning which started the entire situation was when I was coming back to my room to discover her looking in my room head inside body outside and when confronted denied it and said she was room service there to clean the room when she knew I was there cause she greeted me when I came out front to get coffee and breakfast and decided to even ignore the do not disturb sign as well. Everything else besides the employee was good though they had a decent breakfast and the room wasn't too bad but the heater/ac didn't work properly and also the window above it was leaking rain into the room.

They do have monthly rates and yes they are pet friendly.
