Cooper Lake is a beautiful place to tent camp, hike and Kayak. We love it there!

Beautiful area and wonderful weather however... If youre looking for crowds you will find them there. We wont be going back do to vast amount of people making it feel like a KOA of tent sites but less managed. For example, the pit toilets may have piss/poo next to it (literally, i feel bad for the camp host). Including, If youre going thursday/friday dont expect a camp site. Most are already grabbed or someone comes and pays for the site as your packing up. There are more isolated and beautiful places then here guys, im already planning for it.

Pretty little walk in campground on the shores of Cooper Lake. We were there on a holiday weekend, granted, but it was super busy for how far out it is. There is a hiking trail that goes through the campground so there is the potential for a lot of foot traffic past some of the sites. Some day use areas of the campground also get a lot of use. Don’t recommend trying to fish there as it can get busy in the water where the campground is. Looks like there might be some secluded spots elsewhere on the lake accessible by boat. Typically gross vault toilets.
