Great staff!! They make both adoption and fostering very easy. I have been fostering dogs from them.

Second chance dog rescue was great. I saw the dog i wanted text them about him, within the hour i had a response. I was a bit concerned over how far away the dog was they told me not to worry they would bring him to me and they did.Dianne is a super person along with the foster Sarah. I would highly recomend them. I have my Walter now and couldnt be happier. Thanks for the work you do to save these animals.

We got this wild dog over a year ago, his foster parents did everything they could to make sure we were ready to take him. We couldn't be happier.

Do you allow homeless people to adopt from you all??

I would like an answer to this question as well. I know for a fact, a "homeless" life for a dog CAN be a dream come true. Always by their owners side 24\7 rather than left alone for 8hours day after day while owners are at work or school etc .

my daughter has a 15 week pit/mix and she can no longer keep iy...where can she go to rehome it?

Thank you for contacting SCDR with regard to rehoming your pet. We are not a shelter and do not house dogs at our office facility; all of our dogs are safe in private foster homes, with "volunteer" foster parents. Unfortunately, we do not have a foster to take in your dog(s).  You may want to check with the Humane Society, which has numerous resources as well.     Also, you may also want to check out the following link(s) It’s the Pits https://www.itsthepits.org/ Pit Bulls and Friends http://www.pitbullsandfriends.org/ Or https://rehome.adoptapet.com/ (referred via SCDR) and/or https://www.facebook.com/groups/rehome.adopt.foster.pets.sd/?ref=share Thank you and Best of Luck!

Thank you for your interest in rescue. All of our dogs are in private foster homes with volunteer foster parents and the adoption fees are posted in their bio on our website. We are a non-profit rescue and absorb all the costs (medical and supplies) to get a dog ready for adoption so it's not our practice to discount. Thank you for your service and understanding, we hope you consider adopting from a rescue or shelter.

Is it better to euthanize a dog or put up for adoption not knowing where that will lead ?

Pasquale Gelardi | Aug 18, 2018
Kerry Ferreirae | Aug 18, 2018

I volunteer for Second Chance Dog Rescue. Recently had an 8 yo Lab and a 9 yo Retriever relinquished to our group. They lived in my home until we had quality applicants for them. Once the foster organization commits, the dog will be in a loving foster home until they are adopted.

What is the cost of adoption.? Do you need a completed form in order to see the dogs?

Linda Bubien | Aug 18, 2018
Kerry Ferreirae | Aug 18, 2018

Usually $250 or $300. Check out our website and fill out the online application. All our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, so you'll need to specify which dog(s) you are interested in and once approved you will need to coordinate with fosters to meet them

My brother has to give up his 2 dogs because of living situation. Can he bring them there?
