I stood for 15 minutes in line with three people in front of me, each buying one item. It took 15 minutes. I finally got to the front and wanted to pay $10 cash, the rest on my card. The cashier ended the transaction as though I gave her a $20. She looked at me and said “It was $18!” I told her I wanted to pay part in cash, rest on my card.” “But I rang it as $20.” So she told me the only way to fix “my error” was to go to customer service to get a refund and redo HER mistake. But she gave me back my $10, so I just left the stuff I needed and walked out. They also had no hand baskets so I had to awkwardly carry everything around the store only to not get any of it because a dumb cashier can’t see what denomination of bill is in her hands?????

The store is pretty average, however there are a lot of shady characters in the parking lot, I have caught people on multiple occasions trying to look in my car or other peoples cars, as well as panhandle and harass customers outside of the entrance. not the safest place, not to mention loads of trash all over the parking lot. Go to the shadle Safeway instead, much better location.

The store itself is fine, just your average Safeway, and the employees have always been helpful and kind. Unfortunately I can't recommend that people go here after dark. I'm talking starting at 7pm. I would go the long way to another Safeway, or a different store. It is too bad, but that's just the reality. It isn't the safest place, lots of transient people loitering in their vehicles, not exactly the most comfortable place to park in the evening. Do not leave valuables in your car visible here. During the day, if I really need to go here I feel more comfortable doing so when it is light out. I feel bad for the employees who have to deal with these issues.

So Safeway is .. convenient...but there's a price to be paid. If you join the Safeway reward card thingy like EVERY WHERE ELSE.... You will see discounts on items purchased. But I CAN BUY 2 carts full of groceries vs half a cart at Safeway if I shop at discount grocers. Safeway is where I go because it's closer...but if you have time. Your dollar will go much further at places like Grocery Outlet... however they are hit and miss as far as brands and products in general. Safe way is my..."if I have the money and only need a few items..." convenient Grocery store. Otherwise save yourself a ton of money at Grocery outlet or of all else fails Wal-Mart and the others.
