We live on the UWS of Manhattan, and our 8 year old daughter just completed the two night “Rookie Weekend” at Tripp Lake. Overall takeaway: Tripp Lake Camp is a lovely and sweet place, with long-standing traditions, and filled with bright-eyed and confident girls having fun. There was a lot of positive energy, and purposeful intent. My wife and I are glad that we took the time to drive up to Maine, and grateful that our daughter had this positive experience/introduction to overnight camp. Leslie, Janet and Stacy were all incredibly warm and welcoming, and our daughter said that the counselors and other girls she met made her feel safe and at home. She also had a lot of fun, made a few friends, and was excited that she was able to participate in some of the Tripp Lake camp traditions (including lots of singing, and a play put on by some of the other campers). After picking her up Sunday morning, our daughter told us that she definitely wants to go to Tripp Lake for the full summer next year. We took her to visit a few other girls camps in Maine after finishing Rookie Weekend, and all were quite nice. We decided to stop by Tripp Lake again before driving home, and were fortunate to come during “sing song” practice, and to see a camp meal where the girls were all singing. We got a good sense of the camp spirit. Thank you again to Tripp Lake for giving our daughter such a wonderful first overnight camp experience.

I have been a counsellor at Tripp Lake Camp for 3 summers and it became a place that I quickly grew to love and became a home away from home. The love, friendship and appreciation from campers, counsellors and the administration is like no other which encourages you to be the best person you can be. It is a camp that offers a wide variety of activities from land sports, theatre, water sports, art shops and more and encourages you to try new activities. I highly recommend TLC to any camper, prospective parent or staff member wanting to have the summer of their lives.

I have been a counselor at Tripp for two summers and it has quickly become my home away from home. The campers and counselor are some of the best people that I have ever met and the love everyone shares for each other is very apparent. For a camp that is so rooted in its history and tradition, campers and counselors are so welcoming to new faces, and make everyone feel like family. The talent of the campers is shown everyday in a wide rage of activities such as swim, art shops, and a variety of land sports. Special events such as theater shows and different talent shows further showcase the talent of the girls and the counselors. I recommend this camp to any prospective parent, camper, or staff member looking to have the best summer of their life, and know what it means to live in what we call, "the promise land".

My daughter was 13 when she attended this camp. I am still haunted and troubled at how she was bullied at Tripp Lake Camp. Moreover, she received NO protection or feeling of safety from the counselors and camp directors. I was constantly trying to help my daughter, every phone call she made to home was filled with tears and anguish. The girls in her cabin had a mob mentality of ostrasizing and bullying her. The main director, Leslie Levy, and her "second in command" kept blaming my daughter. They said she was "too shy", "too strange' "shows flat effect", etc. It was a traumatic and stressful experience that my daughter survived. I think they finally believed she was bullied when camp was over and the girls were still calling my daughter and taunting her. This is one of the most expensive camps, they require all sorts of mandatory uniform clothing…including mandatory folding chairs and blankets and monogramed trunks.. Now we are stuck with items that only remind my daughter of the darkest summer of her life. Don't send your daughter there! P.S.(Just to emphasize how horrible Tripp Lake Camp really is, my daughter went back to her original less expensive (co-ed) camp we pulled her out of to attend Tripp. This is a smaller camp in the Berkshires. She is happy and thriving…also voted "Best Camper" by her bunkmates.)
