The Best Western in Needles is a very nice motel. While much of Needles gives the appearance of being worn out and past its prime, the Best Western is very well maintained, very clean, and very pleasant. Access from the highway is easy. The staff we dealt with were friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay again and I recommend that you stay there also.

We selected Needles as our stopover location on the way from Visalia to the Grand Canyon, because we were sure that the kids wouldn't be able to handle the very long drive in one shot. Needles itself seems broken and dead, but it was also 116 degrees Fahrenheit, so maybe the locals had just hunkered down for cover, and other visitors were smarter than us. Only 7 vehicles in the lot when we woke up the next morning. However, the stay was comfortable. We requested and received a convertible sofa bed, which worked just fine, and the pool was clean and not too cold. Reception guy was friendly and helpful with what food options might be available (not many! ... things had been bad for several years with the pandemic). The beds were softer than I like, but it was just the one night. A good choice for family travel; you could even stay a few days without feeling "stuck". 4.5/5

Positive: A/C and size of the room with fridge, microwave Negative: We went to the pool area and a guy was smoking a cigar. Can't breathe!! There should be a no-smoking policy by the pool. It is outdoors, but it is a public area with children and others who might have asthma or other lung issues!
