7/2021 - I grew up in New York City area so pizza is important to me. We used to take summer trips to Bethany up until the 90’s when I had to move to Minneapolis. I love the coast so we try to come back as often as we can. I remember regularly eating Grotto pizza because it was so close to New York style and awesome. We are back this summer and it just doesn’t seems to be the same. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still very good. But it is not as close to NY as I remember. It’s only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. Update 7/2022 - we returned to Bethany Beach and of course had Grotto again. I have changed to 5 stars because pizza was perfect. I can only assume the pandemic had something to do with it last year because we couldn’t stop ordering it. My daughter loved the veggie and me, I just like plain cheese. Came so close to NY flavor. Loved it.

Good location if you are into Grotto pizza. Place was larger than it appeared from outside. Service was good and pizzas were tasty. Not sure I dig the swirl of cheese and sauce but that's what you get with Grotto. The mama Grotto was really good!

Foods was great, meatball sub was delicious. The gentleman that waited on us was very nice and professional. Great place to go eat with family and friends.

Pizza was really good. They put the sauce on top of the cheese. The sausage was tasty. Definitely should have ordered the 16 inch instead of the 12. The antipasta salad was also yummy.
