Absolutely terrible service. We are on the optimum wellness plan and my dog gets a yearly shot for allergies. He started itching and when I called for an appointment they told me they had no availability for the next TWO MONTHS. When I called back to tell them he was developing sores all over his body from itching the receptionist told me "I can't even get an appointment for my own dog. There is nothing we can do."

I waited at the front desk for over 15 minutes and none of the 4 employees behind the desk could be bothered to even acknowledge me. I took my pets needs somewhere else. I also tried to call (3x) prior to physically going to Banfield (cedar hills) but they couldn't answer the phone either. I get it, they get busy but it takes less than 2 seconds to say "hi, we'll be right with you" Yeah, no thanks.

*edit, update, version 2* we have contacted Banfield to discuss the situation and to date have received no response. In the response below we are told to reach out to BanfieldCares. I’ve done that. I’ve been doing that. We were told over a week ago that we’d have a response from someone. I’ve provided this google review saying to contact that email address - no reply. 4 weeks ago our 12 year old male Chihuahua went in due to a UTI. Banfield did one urinalysis, put him on some antibiotics and called it good once he completed them. We called a few times during this time period with some additional concerns such as, not eating, incontinence, confusion and were told "is he drinking water? Okay cool he's good until his next appointment". We take him in 2 weeks later and are told that everything has cleared up and is fine. Was told his blood work is normal and the only issue is abscessed teeth that we can schedule (but not until June, thanks. With no help from the front office found him a different location that could take him sooner). All while ignoring all of our other concerns. We are now two weeks post that follow up visit. Dog still isn't eating. Take him to an emergency vet where he is promptly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and kidney disease. He has now been put to rest. How do you not even look at the dog losing two pounds in two weeks? How do you not give us any suggestions or direction? While I understand that diagnosis isn't great. There isn't a whole lot to be done. At least if Banfield had used some sort of critical thinking skills maybe he wouldn't have been MISERABLE this last month.

Very quick! Handled our little puppy just fine and got us taken cared of in around 20 minutes for our first time appointment. Gave us plenty of documentation and explanation of her health needs. Very kind folk.

No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
Hi Denise - In the event that you have made the difficult decision to end a diminished quality of life in a humane manner, Banfield offers several end-of-life services for dogs and cats, including euthanasia and assistance with farewell decisions such as burial ceremonies and cremation. If you are considering euthanasia, we strongly encourage you to speak with your Banfield veterinarian about your options.
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including: • Vaccinations • Dental Care • Parasite Control • Nutritional Counseling • Behavioral Counseling • Comprehensive Examinations
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
