It's a nice little trail. It's a moderately easy hike. There are a couple spots that require hopping on a few slick rocks, besides that, it's decently even path. Be prepared to avoid some itchy plants.

Our family of 4 wanted to try a new hike, so we found this one & read the reviews of how kid friendly it was (we have a 5 year old & an 11 year old). Well, yes, the hike itself was perfect for kids. It’s only 0.7miles one way from the parking lot to the top of the waterfall and it is mostly on an incline but it was short so the kids were able to make it. However the way to the hike is EXTREMELY confusing! There’s a long one way road that leads to the hike & we were not expecting that, it’s roughly 10 miles of a narrow, curvy, one way road. It’s actually kind of scary if you’re driving a SUV or a truck. Once you get to the bottom of the hills, then there’s a small parking lot and that’s where the Tenaja Trail starts. Don’t get it confused with the fisherman trail!

This was a great trail to hike with the kids. It was pretty easy to get up to the falls but the drive to the trailhead was quite long and bumpy for the pay off. I'd love to go back when the water is flowing, I bet it's amazing. Take a trash bag with you because there's a lot of litter to pick up. We make it a contest to see who picks up the most. 😉

Easy hike up to the falls. Yes, it's UP. If you're winded easily, it'll take you a while to get to the falls. I'm a 61 year old ex smoker, and it took me about 30 minutes ( while still waiting for my wife, and taking breaks. Worth the trip for the view.

Yes
Yes they are.
We hiked this trail 06.19.20. The trail is just under one mile if you start at the lower parking area. It does have some elevation gain and does not have much shade so plan accordingly. If the gate is closed people will have to use the upper parking which makes the trail to the falls around 7miles.
Sounds like you started from Tenaja Trailhead (with bathrooms). If you drive a few more miles down the road, you reach the Tenaja Falls Trailhead and the falls are less than a mile from there. To answer your question, once you reach Fisherman's Camp, you continue right and start uphill, then a sign points to a branch left along the slope to the falls. I think it is 7 miles one way from Tenaja Trailhead to Tenaja Falls.
No, this area was unaffected. It's farther south than the area affected by the Holy Fire.
