There is always a possibility for Rattlers but in my experience I haven't seen any up there. You should always be cautious on any trail for snakes and other wildlife.

I usually park on the street below the fire station. It's a dead end after a bridge and there are no posted signs. I've been there a handful of times on the weekend and haven't had any issues.
I've seen tracks..very, very challenging sections.
