Friday afternoon I was out in about an hour without an appointment. The worker was very helpful. They remodeled during the pandemic to provide more distance and barriers between people. Masks and social distancing are still required.

I was little worried after reading the reviews, but I actually had a great experience here. They have walkin option, and the wait time was around 20-30 min. They took like 5-10 min to process the application and delivered the SSN within a week.

Update- We just went there directly. Not much crowded. Don’t wait for appointments. Just go directly to address your needs No idea how to get an appointment. Been calling calling calling....So frustrating. All i need to get SSN for my kids. Atleast give us option to do it online. Time is of value for everyone

I get the extra safety precautions that the government is taking due to COVID, but just as a warning, you can only drop off paperwork between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mid-morning on a Tuesday, I spoke with a woman on the phone who said I could just swing by the office and drop off paperwork. There was no mention of a required time in which I had to swing by the office to drop off the paperwork. So I get there at about 3:30, doors are locked. There is a security guard sitting there doing nothing, which doesn't even make sense because after speaking on the phone again with the same lady, apparently everyone in that office is working from home. The lack of communication is appalling. Honestly I had a better experience at the DMV, and that's saying something.

Why are people answering "yes I want to make one" which isn't the question.
How do I make appointment to get my husband social security benefits
how do I get a copy of my social sequrity card?
Call the 800 number and stay on hold for an hour or more. OR go to their office, take a number and wait......
Sorry tiffany. You will need the hard plastic one. Temporary one will not work.
I would think so.
No, it does not. The kiosk they have is used only to issue numbers after the initial rush.
It would be best to do that.
Use the callback feature on the SS website. They almost always call you back at your designated time. Beats waiting on hold.
Stop by with ID, wait an hour and they will produce copies of any paperwork you need.
Yes, you need to have an account at http://www.ssa.gov. Once you are logged in there is a button to "request replacement documents" and on that page there is an option to request a new SS card.
No.
You can call. This has about .005% chance of reaching a human. Best bet is go in person. Arrive 30 minutes in advance of opening and get in line.
Yes they are. They are also pretty quick. I was there 2x this week, 1st time about 15 min wait then 2nd about 25 min wait. It is probably due to people not knowing that they are open now to the public lol. You do have to wear a mask inside.
Jerry, Are you asking about money you paid into Social Security or to an insurance company?
Depends upon what you're trying to accomplish. They are doing walk-ins for issues that only require 15 minutes or less. However applying for benefits still requires and appointment or filing online.
Call with your son.
If you are speaking of your voluntary tax withholding use form W-4V and mail it in to your local office.
The national phone system is currently having some technical issues. They are currently working on the issue in order to resolve it.
Should be 2020 figure
ssa.gov it's faster no hold wait time.
For all services we need an appointment
No.
I am not sure how long it takes for it to take effect, but they have been encouraging people to use the SSA website for things like changing direct deposit. If you want to see someone in person, I think offices are still closed because of COVID (so appointment only and no drop off of forms). https://www.ssa.gov/deposit/
You need to call the ss office in Beaverton.
Yes. But you need to mail in your actual drivers license as proof of identity. I did not feel comfortable doing that. They do not accept photo copies.
If you have a social security number and all you need is a card, go to their website and you can request a replacement through their "My SSA" application. Super easy process and lots of help articles if you get stuck.
I need to get a ssn because I’m from a different country I have all my papers and I need to make an appointment what things do I need to get a ssn
They will give you paperwork right then and there. But the lines can be long. They open at 9, but there can be long line at 8:30. So get there early and you'll leave eith what you need for employment.
Just walk in Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday 9-4. Wednesday 9to noon.
I am not sure that Social Security office is what you want. There is a group of volunteers associated with the Oregon Department of Human Services that can help/explain both Medicare and Medicaid. But if SSA can help they will. They are very helpful at this location.
My best guess is there could be any variety of reasons depending upon your individual case. You should have (?) received a piece of mail from them with the explanation as to why. Though sometimes I've not received mail updates. It's best to call them to speak to a rep. and inquire about the reason. The phone call wait time can be quite long, however. Once you do get connected, in my experience, the representatives are polite and helpful. Bear in mind the long wait times are personally not thier fault. Hope this helps :)
No, if employer assures you of ongoing coverage beyond age 65
Not only are they paper now, you also cannot laminate them. It makes them invalid for ID. Just an FYI.
You are able to set up appointments. I haven't tried but I would imagine you should be able to get an appointment from their website.
No, you can just walk in, take a number and wait to be called.
Yes. Start now, as the process for both social security and Medicare will take some time.
Yes you are able to make an appointment you also can do what you need on the computer. Call the main office and or call the beaverton branch. I hoped that i was able to help
They say to call and make an appointment.
Get the IRS Form W-4V (Rev. 2-2018), fill it out and send or deliver to Social Security office near you. Do not send to the IRS.
3 years is the average wait without using a disability attorney unless you have an extremely terminal diagnosis that meets SSDI criteria.
Yes, create an account if you haven't already done so.
You can but I am not sure how to do it. When you go to the office while checking in it asks if you have an appointment.
yes. you just have to go to the office and let them know your new address. you may even be able to change your address online
call
Get there early. They open at 9 a.m. however a line starts forming outside at 7:30 a.m..
Avoid the lines and apply online at the Social Security.gov website. That's where most people start.
Go in with the death certificate.
They say to call and you can make an appointment, however that is not the case most of the time. You just go to the office and have to sit and wait to see someone. A lot of the time you sit and wait for 1-2 hours.
You may be able to get those answers on the website.
You might be able to setup DD over the phone, but I recommend coming down to the office in person. The staff at the Beaverton office are really friendly and helpful. You should expect to have to wait between 60 and 90mins.
No, but you may have to wait in a line for a while.
You are unlikely to get any kind of answer from SSA through this mode of contact. I would recommend calling the 800 number for SSA to see if you can get an answer from them. Good luck! This is an EXTREMELY INEFFICIENT govrrnment agency...
I'm not sure, I would call before going and be prepared to wait about 2-3 hours. This is, by far, one of the MOST inefficient government agencies.
If you are unable to reach someone at the National 800 number, you may have to go in to the office. Be prepared to wait 2-3 hours. I would NOT go anytime after 12:30 as once 4:00 hits, they are not obligated to serve you. The entire experience is truly awful.
5 to 10 business days
Call him on the phone.
There are several ways to replace a lost social security card. If it is a replacement, you will need to fill out form ss5. You will also need valid id, like driver's license, passport or passport card. (Keep in mind they do not accept photocopies or temporary documents) get your number, wait your turn in line at social security office present these things at the window. You can get a print out, or a receipt to show employers or for school, but your social security card will be mailed to you. Takes 10 to 14 days. The card is free. You are allowed 10 replacements in your lifetime. You can also send the id and ss5 through the mail. You can also drop the ss5 and id (put it in an envelope so they stay together) in your local branches drop box. Also, keep in mind, if your local post office does not have your name on file for your address, even if you've been getting mail for years, they may not deliver govt correspondence. So... might be a good idea to stop by your post office first.
Carly, yes, any local office can print that out for you. Bring your id, come into the office, select benefit statement from the kiosk. You will be assigned a number, that will get you to an ssa representative who can print that out for you.
You can wait the hour at the social security office :-) keep in mind, the dont make appointments for everything.
Depends on the office. The majority of them will close the doors to new business at the appointed closing time, then call all the numbers that were pulled before closing. One at a time, till everyone is seen.
800-772-1213
Make an appointment, trust me haha
Unless your working with a specific representative that gives you their direct number, your only phone option is the national number. They have the call centers so the office reps can concentrate on people who walk into the office.
