TriMet isn't the best at taking care of their stations and platforms. Often broken shelters, garbage strewn about, and even ticket machines are sabotaged fairly frequently, specifically here with the latter. Of course, it is still functional despite it.

No. Some people try this, but usually will find their vehicle towed away. The max time you're allowed by TriMet is 1 day, during the day time. Though it is not that common they'll send out someone to check for vehicles which "overstay".
