Great location. Beautiful trees. A bit too close to the main road so trucks blasting by at 3 am while camping sucks.

Dunlap Campground is such a peaceful, beautiful place to stop and camp for a while if you're on highway 20 in Northern ca. Between Willits in the East and Fort Bragg on the West it's a great time in the forest. There's a nice cool river running along the back of the campsites if you can manage the slight hike. There's lots of wildlife from birds to frogs and fish. The campground is extremely primitive with outhouse style restrooms, no running water or sinks. There is garbage collection. Picnic table, bbq grill and a fire pit are all included with each campsite. The fee is $15 per night. $5 for an additional car only 2 allowed per site. Pay by cash or check at the iron ranger by the bulliten board. No online reservations. Sometimes you can find for wood cut up you just need to quarter it. It's hardly ever full as we've been there 4x this summer and have only seen it get halfway full around Independence day. Everyone we've met have been pleasant and nice to camp around. The rangers are all professional and easy to communicate with. Willits is about 15 miles away so it's easy to run to Safeway of you've got any last minute needs. There's also fast food and gas too. I highly recommend camping here if you have the opportunity. If you like this review and found it helpful please press the like button. Thank you and have fun exploring our world. Cheers!

Perfect primitive camping halfway to the coast. Wildlife viewing, hiking, only 15 a night

Nice quiet place. Only $15 a day and firewood is supplied for free. Lots of mosquitoes so bring lots of mosquitoe spray. Would have given it 4 stars but the creek is not very accessible.

Yes, but some sites are closed (marked with green tape), to prevent overcrowding
