As of last week (March 15-20), this rest stop was CLOSED. Does anyone know what for? 'No sign of any construction. Has anyone called or contacted CalTrans? This is pretty inconvenient for travelers in between Eureka and Willitts.

Great little place to stop. The picnic table in the very back is the best. Shade and creek. Restroom and stretching area. No other services.

Absolutely! Just keep in mind that sleeping at rest areas are not always the most quiet. So just be prepared. Happy, safe travels.
