Really good food. Open kitchen with a big grill section. The service was marvelous and spot on. The cocktails we ordered from the bar were really good, tasty and lived up to our expectations. The restaurant have a really nice choice of meat, which was deliciously prepared as well - the meat could shine for itself and did! The side we had were the Yukon golden mashed potatoes, grilled sweet corn and the tableside baked potato. They were all amazingly tasty. Full of various flavors. I loved the honest and artisan cooking. Unfortunately we ate so much that there was no room for dessert. We also enjoyed a complementary plate of blue cheese with crackers, home made fig-grape jam and some fresh grapes and strawberries. Very surprising but delicious. All in all very delicious, we felt very well taken care of. It was not cheap but it was worth the money for us. We definitely come back.

If you want a perfectly prepared meal, then you've gotta give El Gaucho a try! We started with pork belly appetizer that was crisp and flavorful. The ribeye steak El Gaucho style was amazing with the lobster medallions and bernaise sauce. Also had the lemon risotto and address grilled shrimp. Delicious! But the best dish was the spicy crab bisque! I could've had 3 bowls and been happy with just that. It was amazing! The atmosphere was awesome with the live guitarist.

Excellence all around. Watching the waitstaff is like watching a well choreographed ballet! Our anniversary was made extraordinary by Jose's attention to detail and thoughtfulness! Thank you El Gaucho!!

Tonight our Portland Timbers FC won the Western Conference Championship and there isn’t a better place to have a celebratory feast to end such an amazing day. From the oysters, the Lobster Mac & Cheese, crab cakes and so many other yummy treats you really can’t go wrong. I decided to go all out and get the Steak El Gaucho (might as well right, we are celebrating) and it was epic. Throw on all those amazing sides and the dinner couldn’t have gone better. Finished the night off with a tableside Flambé bananas foster.

Yes there is, they'll gladly show you the way.
You can, but reservations are highly recommended. May find a spot in the bar.
Yes, definitely🙂
No but you'd feel under dressed wearing shorts and flip flops. As Scot said, just casual is fine though.
Yup,wine corking fee is 30
They should be..
Slacks are a much better option, El Gaucho is considered fine dining.
I don't see why it wouldn't be. But why would you? It'd be like bringing a donkey to a horse race. :\
The restaurant can be reserved for private events. Not sure if the minimums. The connecting hotel does have reservable banquet rooms. I would expect catering is also available. My company has reserves both on occasion for larger events and trainings...
No. They serve excellent food and give wonderful service. They do force "gratuity", though, which I find distasteful.
Its way better to eat there to enjoy the atmosphere.
4:30-6:00 Monday thru Friday; 10:00-close Monday thru Saturday; 4:30-close Sunday
Yes. Either is an option. If you would like to just buy their dinner all you need to do is contact El Gaucho and they can arrange that. Or if you have a specific dollar amount in mind, you can purchase a gift card in person or on line that they can use when they go to dinner there.
