Good crop but the owner clearly has anger issues. We came here to do their U-pick and accidentally crossed into a row that I guess was closed off because we saw people in it so we assumed it was open. (Later found out it was their grandkids and apologized) Had we seen it was closed, we would not have entered. When we go to pay the old man flips out and goes ballistic that we had picked in that row. I tried to explain there was a miscommunication since I saw people picking but he just continued yelling and going off on me. Fast forward, we leave, he follows me out and takes a picture of my license plate. What’s the point of that? I understand we picked in a closed row but seriously? Going off and chasing me out to take a picture of my plate even though I paid? Totally unprofessional and uncalled for reaction, a simple warning would have been enough.

Wow, What a great place! All the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was great to see all the precautionary measures they have adapted, to keep all families safe yet still providing them a great picking experience. I’ve been to two other berry farms recently prior to this one and they definitely aren’t as proactive as Captain blueberry in keeping Covid away from their staff, farm and berries. They have a hand washing station, put you in a row and area of your own so you have plenty of distance between your family and others. They also ask for you not to eat the berries while picking which can be very hard and even a frustrating request. It was for me anyway. But after I was explained to why, it was very understandable. If you pick a berry and put it into your mouth, you would then contaminate the other berries with your saliva you got on your fingers while putting it into your mouth. That was something that had never crossed my mind. Eww! I love my Covid free blueberries and so do my 4 kids. Thanks!! We will be back for sure.

Good morning captain. Google captian blueberry. Then where it says closed but opens at 8:00am Saturday. Go to suggest edit. And you can change it.

Does this farm use pesticides or herbicides on their berries?

The answer from Mr. Sparks is incorrect. We have 8 acres of blueberries 3 of which are grown organically. The other 5 acres are treated with fungicide in the early spring. No Herbicides are used on either field.
