There are camp sites there in the park not far from the front of the parkoff to the key from the river you go around n you will c them
I called and was told they don't accept reservations, but have never had a complaint about all sites being full. They say there are 14 sites. The site we pulled in to was wide (but not wide enough for 2 campers) and had two electric outlets (30 amp) and 2 water supplies. I only saw 7 of these sites unless there are more elsewhere. However, 5 of them were open all weekend. No fire rings at the site. Bring your own and call the fire department before you burn. Lots of local fishing traffic, sometimes late at night. But they kept it pretty quiet and city police maintained enough presence to assure it stayed calm. We will probably use this campground again
You have to go to city hall to reserve a shelter and I think you can also pay for a spot to camp there. City hall is on main street there in town. I'm not sure what the costs are nowadays though.
