How does it work? Do you have to pay to get in or to park or anything? Also does anyone know if there are any hotels near the area? Would be coming from a couple hours away and this would be a first time for anything like this!

Does not cost anything at all, paying or admission. Hotels, there is a couple "The Sanctuary" is a BNB with a 5 star rating and the there's the Attica Inn which is a 2 start hotel. Hope this answers your questions.

Free park. Small amount of spaces. Bring shoes that can get wet, bugspray, and a towel. Where the Fall are you can wade in the water. Not deep but it's nice to cool off. Walking the stream is beautiful. Just make sure you bring walking shoes you dont care about. Not sure about hotels. This really wasnt an all day thing for us but we drove 2 plus hours. I'm sure if you pull up address on google you can search for nearby hotels

Completely free park. Free parking. Trails that go down to the creek and falls where you can get in the water. Have to walk in the creek to get to falls. Main trail down is fairly easy. Mile and a half of other trails around the falls you can walk. Williamsport is a very small town no hotels. Attica is close by but also a small rural town, maybe has a hotel. Depending on which direction your coming from I would look in to Lafayette, Lebanon, Crawfordsville, Danville, IL for a hotel.

I don't know about hotels but I'm sure there are some close. It is free to see and hike the trails in the area. There is a parking lot right by the falls but it fills up fast. There is on the street parking really close by.
