meter parking is free after 6 p.m. Otherwise, pay and park in one of the many close-by parking garages which would be safest. Either way, be sure to lock your doors and keep valuables out of sight. There are constant opportunity seekers walking up and down 4th street.
Also allot of people park in the brown hotel parking garage they do not validate parking and I'm not sure the prices but that's the closest and fastest place.
I park on the street. I always manage to get a meter fairly close and walk about a half block. It is worth it. Been there 3 times and love it.
