It's a small tight place, it's difficult sometimes not to do this as a server.
Sometimes, as a server, it is literally impossible to not reach over another person's plate to deliver the food. Consider complaining to the individuals joining you and ask that they move to another table.
I'm not owner. You should talk with owner or manage while at restaurant.
