You can, but if you go under the John Ross Bridge and pass the boat launch, walk down the concrete promenade, there is a small pier on the left.

Seriously try raw shrimp, set the line up like u would live worms and thread the hook through the center of the shrimp like through top to bottom so it don't come off. Garunteed to catch ANY breed of fish so far. Specially catfish but have a license down there.

You can but it is strongly suggested not to eat what you catch. There is a ramp to the water where a sign states that you should eat more than one catch per month or so for health concerns.
