We serve Tawny Port at room temperature. Robert is correct that room temperature brings out the caramel flavors more. Enjoy!
Chilled dulls the flavor a bit. Room temp has a more caramel flavor. Your choice. Best both ways.
A port is classically served room temperature in order for the bouquet to bloom. However, everything is best enjoyed they way you want it. I say try it both ways and decide which you like best. (Mine is in the red wine chiller).
No rules here, but preference. My preference is chilled.
