Holly, I wish I'd seen your answer last night when I was working there. I will be there tonight and I will ask to be sure, but they do do this sort of thing rarely. When they do an event, it's usually on a Monday or Tuesday because any other day would disrupt their work for the needful.
Jbj is very small. Unless your party was about 25 or less, I don't think it is big enough. I would say it really is not a place for a wedding reception
You can call about reservations. There are occasional private parties there. You might also consider a donation/pay it forward rather than favors.
