Probably because it was on clearance now. If you dont have a receipt most places wont even let you make returns anymore, but if they do you get the lowest sale price for it because theres no proof of the price you paid

Well you answered that yourself, NO RECEIPT, NO FULL REFUND if any at all, they usually have a statement of return policy hanging on the wall somewhere or on the back of the receipt.
