Ive been told that once you turn 18 and you dont have a permit or a license yet that you would only need to do the driving test, I just want some clarification on that?

You still need to take the state driving test to get issued a permit (must pass) but then you can take the driving test right after (if you get their early and theirs space available for you).

Don't know. Got my original license in Florida, 1975.
