Your ticket has a date and time for your court appearance. Some people choose to pay ahead of time and never have to see the judge. If you would like to see the judge, either appear at your appointed time or call ahead to ask if the court takes walk-ins. Some of the courts do these by phone as well. The date and time on your ticket is the deadline by which you have to tell the court what option you choose to handle the ticket. Depending on the specific charges, options might be to pay the fine, to ask for defensive driving, or to ask for a hearing or trial. The time is not critical, but the date definitely is.
