NJ Transit's Atlantic City Rail Line will officially resume service on Sunday, May 12, 2019. If you're looking for the most direct train service to NYC, purchase a ticket between AC and the Pennsauken Transit Center near Camden ($7). From Pennsauken, you can purchase a ticket for the NJ Transit River Line for the trip to Trenton ($1.60), where you can connect to another NJ Transit train to New York's Penn Station ($16.25). It's not only cheaper than having to take SEPTA from Philly-30th St. to Trenton, but it's also more direct since you don't have to cross the Delaware River. (Of course, you could also take a bus from Atlantic City to the NY Port Authority Terminal).
Last time there was direct rail service was 9 or 10 years ago
There is no train, it is out of service until Memorial Day. Go to 30th street Philadelphia and take the amtrak from there
