Is it true that I can get a 1 time fee waived for a duplicate I.D? I’ve heard from more than 1 person that I can get one free but only once.

Fee Exemptions Age 25 and Older The Department is authorized to waive the fees for homeless persons and recently-released prisoners to obtain a duplicate ID card for persons who are 25 years of age and older and declare themselves homeless or a recently-released prisoner.  This is a one time exemption for duplicates only. You may be required to reimburse the $4.25 photo and technology fees to the Department at the time of your next regular renewal if you are employed at the time of the renewal. See Duplicate Driver License or ID for details. Under 25 Persons who are under 25 years of age and declare themselves homeless are entitled to a one-time exemption for all fees to obtain an original, renewal or duplicate Nevada driver's license, ID card or Driver Authorization Card.  You are not required to reimburse the Department any waived fees. All persons wishing to use these fee exemptions must apply in person at a DMV office and complete the homeless declaration.
