Just be glad you didn't have to talk with a computer. At least they have real people answering if you get through. A big store is always hard to manage every part of its functions. Many stores are worse at that than Wal-Mart.

I havent had problems like that. It does usually take a while of waiting but because they sometimes have customers or have to walk away from the counter.
If I was you I would ask for the management person where the one in charge and if they don't get them I go out there and ask for them or demand for them.
