Walmart has a lot of shoplifters. For all of you complainers, would you prefer walmart prices go up because of losses?
I work at Wal-Mart and we have had plenty of people go thru self check without paying. I caught one and had him go back to the self check and pay his bill. The other night a customer had a couple of containers of wine. She claimed she already bought them but didn't have her receipt, wanted me to watch them while she went to go look for something. I was just giving an employee a break. I filled that employee in on the situation then proceeded to go back to my station. When customer return she had a hissy fit then took off out the door with the wine. Employee tried calling a CSM person but she did not show. How can you not have a receipt for something you just bought from that same store a few minutes ago? If you actually bought it that is. We also no longer have store greeters any more. But have plenty of people who wait til the employee is busy and not paying attention cause she is taking care of another customer and then sneaks out without paying.
There are no federal or state laws that allow a "greeter" to ask to see your receipt. Wal-Mart has plenty of cameras and floor walkers to catch shoplifters If you keep allowing Wal-Mart to check your receipt, what's next? Body serches? Strip searches?
I agree, I cussed one out for touching my items. It's mine after I purchased my items, look all u want but don't touch MY sh:t
