Ask for a LES, pay stub, or Military ID card. If its not white and says Military Uniformed Services, they might be a spouse (non-others are tan, pink, blue, colors) they most likely say spouse or retired on it.
If the person is active duty, they should have an ID card. This is also true for retired military, like myself. However, if you don't know the location of the person you seek, contact the closest base & ask for the Base Locator. You might need certain information to obtain your request.
Every military personnel carried a ID
