so does it really matter if i make way more than what they posted? I don't think it's really fair if i get denied just because I make a decent living.

Understand the frustration but there are people that cannot afford a good home at current rates so that is why there are income restrictions. You and I supposedly can afford to pay more while senior citizens, low income earners and the like have difficulty afford even the price at the income restricted apartments. Not to mention that an open apartment that is cheap is like finding hen's teeth.

Thank god they have that cap honestly otherwise the lot of us wouldnt be able to have homes in our own home town :(
