The leather bags have no rigidity to the lid. So there is nothing to hold the weight. However you can take a set of the fiberglass or abs bags to an upholstery shop and have them wrap them in leather or vinal to keep the look then ad 6×9s to those lids. With that style bag you also open yourself up to options on the inside.
I'm sure they can accompany that for you.They will use your bag lids too I'm sure!
