Why is it every time I call a Wal-Mart store no one ever answers the phone except for the switchboard person. No matter what department I ask for, no one EVER answers. I'm sure I'm not alone here.

Because gigantic companies typically farm out their customer service work to 3rd parties. Good customer service is a small business thing.

Because that’s how it works so the people in those departments can have time to do some work and not answer 12 thousand calls a day.

Because most employees are busy working. Walmart does not source out to a third party to answer the phone
