It has always amazed me the people they pick for those jobs! It's not the person with experience, it's not even the guy that worked at the oil change shop for 6 months, it's the random person who has never done anything more than turn the key and pump the gas on a car! A lot of these places offer free installation, wiper blades, some light bulbs, and will even try to read a computer that they plug into your car. The concerning part is when you watch them hook up a battery backwards, break a headlight, break a windshield wiper arm, or simply can't find the part that they offer to replace and haven't helped me when they try to understand what the computer is telling them about diagnostic trouble codes AKA check engine light! LOL I have had employees look at a computer with words clearly written across it IE oxygen sensor, then tell me I need a tune-up or I need spark plug wires on a diesel or I need to change my blinker fluid!
It's not hard to replace a battery. I think he just doesn't know anything about cars
Sad fact. He needs a book to replace a battery. I've never seen a book loosen terminals. I definitely would have requested instant research, or a manager.
Our Greenwood auto center is just what it is an a self auto center. Not like the 1 in Newberry that has actual auto employees just for that dept to help with all your car needs
I would ask him to pull up the auto center's web site and research the installation policy right then.
