Depends on where you want to picnic, by the beach (about few minutes walk from parking lot to pick a spot ), there are other areas as well, by the lake or just by the field looking out the beautiful hiking trails and greenery.
Make sure you go early on weekends. You may wind up parking further away and not getting an ideal place to enjoy you time there
