There is a 1.5 mile nature/cultural trail located behind the Pala spa. I am sure if you check with the hotel concierge you can get more info
Keep going up the hill and you'll reach Palomar Observatory. Maybe there are trails up there.
Depends on how far your willing to travel and how secluded do you like the trails. If your willing to take a 30 min "scenic" drive I would recommend driving to Santa Ysabel. They have several trails and are on they way to Julian which combined make for an excellent day trip.
