I was hurt at work 2 weeks ago. My HR person finally gave me a record number from the ins co could see a dr which I finally did. I need an MRI but it needs approval. it’s been 2 weeks Still haven’t heard from the ins company. Is this normal?

Yes the insurance co is essentially under contract with your employer and therefore the process is often times hindered by this. In other words someone in HR could be sitting on your paperwork. You should 1. contact your employer 2. the insurance company and 3. have the Dr who recommended the MRI contact the insurer. In most cases the medical providers handle the paperwork and the payments. Worse case scenario your paperwork was pushed aside. Speak up and reach out. Good luck to you and feel better.
