I was told by a fellow vet...if I did NOT csh n my SGLI (Life ins policy), upon dschrge frm actv dty, STILL CAN DO SO. My SGLI was NEVER trnsfr'd n2 any status...ie: vet nor con'ting actv as a priv civ'lian, self $ cntribut'n. True ? YES..call whm ?

The SGLI is TERM life insurance, meaning it has no cash value.

There is a short window after discharge to transfer it into a VGLI but there is no way to cash the plan out.

The reason ? Bcuz of the word "term" ? I've had, experience n the past, wth life ins. Ability 2 borrow against that policy; pd n2 monthly. "Value" there...otherwise, inability 2 utilize as a "valuable" assest....???!!! Mr. King, THANK U !!!
