You come as you are when you are first seeking to know Christ. But you have to make a decision to completely surrender your life to Christ...deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Jesus. Then you will need to be baptized in Jesus name..born again in the Spirit, and LIVE A NEW LIFE in Christ for your name to be written in the Lambs Book of Life. The old person begins to die and your mind begins to be transformed to the mind of Christ to be considered a true Christian or believer in Jesus Christ!!
