I refinish furniture as a hobby, but would like to be more serious about it and do for profit. I have stripped and stained just a few pieces and would like to do more. What do you suggest? Thanks

Start small. Cutting boards, bird houses, bat boxes. Maybe make yourself a stool or a shop mallet.

Research what you would like to do. Find plans or use the cheaper plywood to make what you want first. That way if you make a mistake it isn't as expensive.
