Found a dress here yesterday. I took it to a register to have it price checked. The lady at the register refused to sell it to me and claimed it was no longer in the system and it could not be sold. She took it away. Was this proper procedure?

I am not sure if it is. But I can tell you that I was in Macy's not long ago I don't think they've got a new shipment of merchandise since the lock down so it's quite possible that it's not in system. In retail if a salesperson hard keys merchandise, it flags it at corporate like their trying to override a price or do something fradulent,so she might be right. If it wont scan 🤷‍♀️.
