I have a Canon T7i. I found that third party batteries would not charge in my charger. I called Canon and was informed that their batteries contained a chip which communicates with the camera. The third party batteries included instructions on how to override the warning that the camera would raise over not being able to establish communication with the battery. I decided not to use the third party batteries. The people at Mike's Camera can answer questions about your specific camera and have always been willing to help.
