I went with my daughter's 6th grade class. It is not as intense as you would think. They have allot of interactive stuff. Rosa parks, slavery, bullying, and bringing each other up instead of tearing them down were all touched on in our tour
Middle school is a good age with an adult to help process.
It's up to you as to what age you think your children can understand and handle some of the things they would see and if you are able to answer some of the questions they may have about what they see and hear. There is an interactive section that would help you explain some of the activites they encounter.
Thank you, my grandsons are 12 & 10, I feel it's still too young, but they NEED to see it!
That is really up to you. I didn't take my 8 year old. Remember what this museum is about
